Coloring Down The Lines Blog Hop - Not Quite Navy

Hello Friends!

Thank you for hopping over from  blog.  I just love the creation she came up with using the Not Quite Navy combo!

If you did not come by via Pam's blog, today is the Coloring Down The Lines Blog Hop.  This week we are showcasing Not Quite Navy.  We are to make a project using one of two combonations which are: Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and More Mustard OR Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green.  I chose the first combo of Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard.  These colors just reminds me of fall.

In making this card, I thought I needed to balance it out by throwing in a few neutral colors.  What do you think?

Sunny Morning Chat Challenge - Cupcake

Hello, Friends!

Our friend, Donna over on her blog, Butternutsage Designs has issued another fun challenge.  The challenge is to make a project with a cupcake theme.  The card that I made went together so fast, you could probably make a bunch of these babies using the assembly line technique.  Assembly line technique is for instance, you needed to have 50 cards.  You would cut all of your card stock and put into a pile, stamp all of your images and put into a pile, add any embellishments, then put the card together.  Viola!  You have 50 cards!

I hope you would get you a cup of coffee, pull up a comfy chair, and chat with us.  I can guarantee you will be inspired (and even entertained) by all of our group of ladies.  Also, if you want to see what the other ladies have came up with (which I am sure they are all awesome), click here to go to Donna's blog then click on the Morning Chat Challenge tab and enjoy.

Is this card not gorgeous?  It reminds me of my grandmother as these were her favorite colors.  The sentiment in the center on the Cajun Craze card stock says Heartfelt.  My camera did not pick that up very well.

Paper Flowers

Hello, Stampers!

I have another Demo Shoebox project for you.  But first, I have one question for you.  Do you have a difficult time trying to use your scraps of Designers Series Paper (DSP)?  Well, I have a solution - Paper Flowers!  With your scraps of DSP and a few other supplies, you can make some beautiful Paper Flowers.

Well, whatcha' think?  This flower was easy peasy.  You know, it just occured to me.  If you are wrapping up a gift and you realize you don't have any bows or the bows that you do have look terrible, you can whip up one of these babies to use instead of a bow!

  • Designer's Series Paper
    • Orchard Harvest DSP - cut into 9; 10" x 1/2"
    • First Edition -  punch out 2; 3/4" circles
  • Card Stock
    • Any color that coordinates with the DSP - punch out 2; 1" circles
  • Classic Stampin' Ink Pad
    • Soft Suede was used here
  • Accessories
    • Antique Brads

Tea Box

Hello, Stampers!

This is another project I made during our Demo Shoebox Swap.  I absolutely love this project.  In putting it together, all of the pieces parts are different sizes even though it does not look like it.  This little box would be perfect to tuck into a basket with other items such as tissues, thermometer, and a mug for a care basket for someone that is suffering from a cold.  Or  the dimensions can be altered a bit and you can decorate it with a snowman and put hot chocolate in it!  The possiblities are endless!

Christmas Acetate Box

Good Morning, Stampers!

Today, I am sharing with you another Shoebox Swap.  This is an acetate box that can be filled with all kinds of goodies, such as a gift card, small toy, and even some delicious chocolates.  Also you can make them any size you like.

This little was easy peasy to put together.  However, when you are attaching the acetate to the DSP, you will need to slightly smush in the sides of the box to put bottom of box into the DSP base so sticky strip doesn't 'catch' until the acetate sits at the bottom base.

Kimono Card

Good morning, Stampers!

For the next little bit, I will be sharing with you what we made at our monthly demo meeting during a shoebox swap.  If you are thinking, what is a shoebox swap?  A shoebox swap is where you have a shoebox with all of your card stock, ink pads, and any other supplies needed along with instructions for your project.  We had lots of fun doing this.

The first project is a Kimono card.  This is a very easy peasy masculine card you can make in no time at all.

If you make this card out of a dark card stock as I did here, you will need to add a "liner" on the inside so you can stamp your sentiment or write a message.

Here is what the card looks like closed:

And here is the card opened up:

For the cumberbund, wrap your strip of paper from the front to the back leaving enough space to allow you slide easily off of the card.  You can also use ribbon, just tie it in a nice tie on the front, again keeping it lose enough to slide easily off the card.

    • Wacky Wishes
  • Card Stock
    • Core'dinations Card Stock (Holiday Catalog)

Serene Silhouetes

Coloring Down The Lines Blog Hop - Riding Hood Red

Good morning, Stampers!

Thank you for hopping by my blog today from Sandy's blog!  Her creation is so beautiful!  In case you didn't arrive here from Sandy's blog, today is the Coloring Down The Lines Blog Hop and the color we are showcasing is Riding Hood Red.  With Riding Hood Red, we have two options to choose from:  Baja Breeze and So Saffron OR Basic Gray and More Mustard.  I chose the second option.

I am not very pleased with my card today.  I went to pull out my Riding Hood Red card stock and ink pad and discovered I ran out of the card stock and had not ordered the ink pad!  Don't you hate that when it happens?  So, I just improvised and used my Riding Hood Red Stampin' Write Marker and did the direct to stamp technique for my sentiment.  Also, I tried using the Riding Hood Red on the butterflies with the Basic Gray and they looked hideous!  Tee Hee!

CASEing

Good morning, Stampers!

I have been hearing a lot about CASEing lately and thought I would share with you what CASEing is.  Being a demonstrator with Stampin' Up! we get a monthly magazine (Stampin' Success) full of ideas and tips to help us with our business.  This month, one of the articles is about CASEing.
CASEing case (kas) v. CopyAndShare(or Steal)Everything: In the world of papercrafting, there is no shame in copying; in fact, we encourage it!  CASEing is an easy way to come up with a project quickly, and there's more than one way to CASE.  You can copy a project exactly (be sure to give credit to the originator), or you can switch out some of the elements to adapt it for different needs.
So, here is my CASE from this issue of Stampin' Success:

I did change a few of elements on this card.  The banner is wider, sentiment is different, the sizes of basic pearls are different.  But other than that, the card is the same.

Would you like to start getting your own copy of Stampin' Success?  Just contact me and I will tell you how.

Trust God

Good morning, Stampers!

Today I thought I would share with you a card that I made last night.  The idea came from Robbie's Blog.  I turned my card into landscape shape and added the cardstock and dsp; it reminded me of a quilt square.  I remembered that I had purchased this stamp set called Trust God and thought the saying was perfect in meaning that quilts are a work of art and that "each of is God's special work of art"'

I really like the way this card turned out.  Thanks, Robbie for your inspiration!
