Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 Lip Dub

Good morning, Stampers!

I just had to share with you the Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 theme song with you.  I absolutely LOVE this song!  I find that I am humming it a lot!  LOL  The Stampin' Up! employees had a blast creating this lip dub video for the Convention2012 attendees.  Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year.  The theme song this year is called "I Am...," with vocals by Jessie Funk and lip dub by the Stampin' UP! home office staff in Utah.  Before you click on the arrow, be sure to turn up the volume on your speakers - you will find yourself dancing and humming right along with them!

Thank you for joining me today.  Please be sure to come back by soon for another visit.

Until next time...

Happy Stamping!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I look forward to reading your comments.  Please come back again soon.

Iris Fold - Owl

Good morning, Stampers!

We had our demo meeting yesterday and one of our very talented ladies taught us how to do the technique called  the Iris Fold.

Before I share with you my project I had made, I want to give you a little history of the Iris Fold, which I found very interesting.  This is taken from Wikipedia.  Iris folding originated in Holland, where early craft persons made their designs using patterned paper cut from the inside of envelopes (I understand that their envelopes are very ornate on the inside).  Today, crafters use any light weight paper, such as scrapbook paper, origami paper, wrapping paper, the inside of envelopes or pages of magazines.  Ribbon was also used.  Iris folding is a paper craft technique that involves folding strips of colored paper in such a way to form a design.  The center of the design forms an iris - a shape reminiscent of the iris diaphram of a camera lens.

And now for my project:

And here is a close-up:

I tell you what, I absolutely LOVE this technique - you will be seeing more right here on my blog!

Apothecary Art

Good morning, Stampers!

I was looking through all of my Designers Series Papers (DSP) and decided to make a card out of the Twitterpatted.  I am so glad this DSP carried over to the new 2012-2013 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog!  I was actually going to make a card in the portrait position but after I had cut my dsp, I noticed that the flowers would look like they were laying down and it just did not look right to me.  So, I turned my card and this is what I ended up with:

I really like how this card turned out.  The colors reminds me so much of my great-grandmother that we called "Nanny".  She was a very sweet lady.  I remember when we would go visit her on Wednesday's, she would fix a huge meal and we would always have coconut cake for dessert.  Yummy!  I could just taste it now!

My Stampin' Supplies
  • Stamp Set
    • Apothecary Art
  • Cardstock
    • Basic Black
    • Basic Gray
    • Whisper White
  • DSP
    • Twitterpatted

Good morning, Stampers!

Today is our chat room blog hop!  If you joined me from Sandy's blog, welcome to my blog! Sandy surely did an awesome job on her creation (as always)  If not, let me catch you up to speed.  Our color is Old Olive.  With Old Olive you can pick Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze or Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy.  I chose to go with the Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze to go with the Old Olive. Now, in stamping, there are no mistakes only design changes.  Can you tell what I changed (not intentional)?  Also, the picture does not show it very well, but there is an embossed "frame" around the framelit.
