Rolling Thunder 2012 Part 1

Good morning, Stampers!

As promised, here are some pics of our trip to Washington, D.C. for Rolling Thunder this past weekend.

This is the sign at our Union Hall in Dublin at the Volvo Truck Plant.

This is the flag hanging from a fire truck at the Volvo Truck Plant.  Then just over to the right is the cannon that was fired during the ceremony on Saturday morning.

This is the posting of the colors and the gentleman that plays the bagpipes at each Rolling Thunder ceremony in Dublin.

The next four pics are of the Volvo truck that the plant made for Rolling Thunder.  It also goes to Washington behind the pack of motorcyles.

Ok, that was some of the pics that I took at the ceremony before the big ride to Washington, D.C. I hope you enjoyed the pics.  Be sure to keep watching my blog for more pics.

Until next time...

Happy Stamping,

Teri

Red, White, & Blue Challenge

Good morning, Stampers.

As you know I am a member of the Sunny Morning Chat over on Donna's blog.  For the challenge this time in honor of Memorial Day, was to make something in red, white, and blue.  Here is my submission:

I used the herringbone technique for this card.  Later, I will make a card using the herringbone technique using designers series paper.  Talking about a "wow factor"!

Here is my recipe for this card:
  • Stamp Set
    • Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Card Stock
    • Real Red
    • Whisper White
    • Night of Navy
  • Punch
    • Decorative Label Punch
  • Accessories
    • Mini Brads
Be sure to click on Donna's blog www.butternutsagedesigns.blogspot.com to see all of the creations.  And come join us for chat for great inspirations and fun!

I hope you liked my card today.  Please leave a comment below - I love hearing from you!

Speaking of Memorial Day, My hubby and I will be traveling to Washington, D.C. for Rolling Thunder.  Our Christian Motorcyclists Association (www.cmausa.org) chapter is going to pay tribute to our Vet's for their service and sacrifices our men and women gave to our country.  We will be setting up tents and serving free coffee, water, snacks, and even peanut butter sandwiches.  It is our way of thanking our Vet's for their service to our wonderful country.  Last year a saw a t-shirt that said:

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you can read this in English, thank a Vet.

I believe that t-shirt says it all in two short sentences.

Be watching my blog next week as I will be posting some pics of our trip to Rolling Thunder.

I hope you and your families have a safe and blessed Memorial weekend.

Until next time...

Happy Stamping,

Teri

Sad To See You Go!

Good morning, Stampers!

As you know, the 2010-2012 In Colors will retire at the end of this month.  It's hard to believe that it's already time to say goodbye to Blushing Bride (my favorite), Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz, and Poppy Parade!

Stampin' Up! announced in 2010 during the last color renovation that we plan to refresh the Stampin' Up! color collections every three to five years.  With that in mind, you may want to hold onto your 2010-2012 In Color supplies incase we add them to a color collection in the future.

Sorry for such a quick post today.  I am getting my projects ready for our monthly demo meeting.

I hope you have a great crafty weekend.  Until next time...

Happy Stamping!

Blog Hop Wednesday

Good Morning, Stampers!

Our Morning Chat group is doing a Color Coach Challenge.  We decided to make it a blog hop so you could see all our wonderful cards.  You should have arrived to my blog from Sandy.  We hope you enjoy our little hop.

Last week we did the first two of the Brights family.  Today we are doing the next color in our color coach which could be to use Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Pacific Point or we could choose Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  I opted to use the last choice of Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  The stamp set I used is Just Believe.

Tracy's blog is next!

Until next time,

Happy Stamping!

Love & Sympathy

Good Monday Morning, Stampers!

I hope you had a lovely weekend!  My card today is kind of a color challenge that Robbie from our chat room issued to a few of us to get our mojo going again.  For as hot at the weather has been, I think my mojo has dried up!  I used the technique where you actually color the stamp with the Stampin' Write Markers.

Here is a pic of the inside:

I really enjoyed making this simple yet elegant card.  If you like it too, just leave me a comment below.  I just love reading all the nice comments I get.

Thanks So Much, Donna!

This post is a little different today from the others.  I want to send a huge thank you and congratulations to Donna at Butternutsage Designs for reaching the 600,000 views on her blog!  That is a lot of views on her blog!

I want to tell you a little bit about Donna.   She has opened up her life and home to share her love of Stampin' Up!  She opened up a chat room on her blog so that we can get together to share techniques, fun and to give inspiration to each other. Donna gives us challenges (so we can go outside of the box) to complete and post on her blog as you have seen previously on my blog; and speaking of blogs, she held each of our hands as we created our own blogs.  There are not enough words to express my thanks to Donna.

Donna is sending back the love by offering a Goodie Bag for us to be eligible for in honor of her reaching the 600,000 views!  The card above is my submission to her party.  Click on over to Donna's blog to see the other beautiful submissions!  Donna will draw a winner on Sunday which happens to be her birthday!  Happy Birthday, Donna!

My card today, I used the technique called Emboss Resist.  This technique is really fun to do.  I used Whisper White Card Stock, Whisper White Embossing Powder, and Poppy Parade Classic Ink Pad.

Until next time...

Happy Stamping!

Teri
